Our History
1992 - A grassroots group of concerned adults and young people realized hundreds of teens were living in crisis in South Snohomish and North King counties. Lead by a community-minded high school counselor, this group dedided to address the needs of our teens at risk -- abused, neglected, abandoned, or in conflict with family. They called themselve TeenHOPE.
1993 - On February 23rd, TeenHOPE became incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Washington State.
1995 - April, TeenHOPE, aided by a state grant, bought property in Shoreline, WA
1996 - In January 3rd, TeenHOPE opened their doors four nights a week to teens 13 - 17.
1996 - January 3rd, TeenHOPE expanded services to seven nights per week.
1998 - The Peace Table Family Mediation program was created to help restore the relationship between youth and their parents/guardians.
2003 - TeenHOPE was awarded a three-year federal grant to run the Street Outreach Program.
